As is true in every generation, the fundamental problems facing our society are spiritual in nature. Unconverted people will produce a culture that is opposed to our Creator. Moreover, believers who have temporarily lost their zeal for Christ will not be effective ambassadors of Him. As a result, people will not hear the gospel, God’s Word will not be applied to all of life, and the culture will remain darkened. The only solution is for God to give us an awakening.

On March 8-10, Ligonier Ministries hosted its 31st annual National Conference. Rosaria Butterfield, Kevin DeYoung, Sinclair Ferguson, W. Robert Godfrey, Tim Keesee, Albert Mohler, Stephen Nichols, Miguel Núñez, Burk Parsons, Joni Eareckson Tada, and Derek Thomas considered awakening in Scripture and history, the means of awakening, and the signs of an awakened church.
