During the Babylonian exile, the Psalmist exclaimed, “How shall we sing the Lord's song in a foreign land?” (Ps. 137:4). As a stranger in a pagan culture, he wondered how Israel was to live in the midst of a society that did not know the one true God.

We too live as exiles in a society that is rapidly abandoning any commitment to the God of Scripture. While this can be overwhelming, God has called His church to remain true to her calling so that society might be transformed and renewed. In this lecture, Dr. R.C. Sproul analyzes the rapid decline of American culture and exhorts the people of God to live faithfully in the midst of this fallen society.
