It’s easy to become discouraged as the marks of God’s church seem to grow fuzzy in local congregations, becoming so blurred at times we’re not sure what distinguishes a church from a cult or social club.

What does the one true church look like? When did God first establish his church, and why? What is the nature of the covenant relationship He made with His church, and what are our responsibilities? What do the words ‘one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church’ mean? When did Catholic and Orthodox institutions cease to be part of the one true church? How can we be certain that God’s plan will end with a church victorious? How can we know whether we should leave or engage more within a church?
